The Turai Pasture Nature Conservation Area was declared protected by the President of the National Environment and Nature Conservation Office in the 2/1987. (VII. 10.) with OKTH decision no.

            Pedigree number: 190/TT/87

            Extent: 14 ha

            The affected village boundary: Tura

Brief description of the protected natural values

The protected area is located on the shore of the Galga stream. In the relatively low-lying area, there is mostly a meadow soil formation, and on the 1-2 m higher elevations, there is a sandy-agricultural soil formation. In the deeper parts of the protected area, due to the groundwater level relatively close to the surface, the soil is wetter, and the vegetation is the highly diseased vegetation typical of cast soils. The slightly higher, plateau areas are characterized by drier, sandy flowers. Its vegetation is the flora of the sand desert lawn, on the edge of which there is the spring meadow. The trees in the forest area are Csenevés acacia.

Main risk factors, special protection tasks

The protected area is surrounded on all sides by intensively utilized arable land. The chemical technology used in farming endangers the area. In the protected area - in its most botanically valuable part - there is a dirt road that is also used by vehicles in connection with the farming in the surrounding areas.

In order to protect the habitat of the highly protected plant species, the dirt road that currently runs diagonally across the edge of the area must be removed, and its illegal use must be prevented by creating an appropriate ditch system. Instead, the former road bordering the area must be opened.

Visitability

The nature reserve can be visited freely, except for the time when the single-headed flower blooms (February 1st - March 31st). During this period, the protected area can only be visited with a guide.
